Summary / TL;DR:
Our first month of 2022 has lived up to the hype! The Mainstage Team has been grinding the expansion of our High School League — we are excited to announce new partnerships for competitors this season. Meet Joel, Mainstage’s COO!

High School League

In our final season of 2021, we had 16 schools in South Carolina and North Carolina compete. And to kick off 2022, we have already doubled that! Florida has taken OVER this year with new schools spanning from Jacksonville, down the coast to Ft. Lauderdale. Some of these schools boast the LARGEST esport clubs in the nation! Additionally, we have grown our presence in South Carolina, North Carolina, and West Virginia as well.

There is a little over a month left before the registration deadline and we are working with schools in several additional states to support their esports clubs in time for the season. We can’t wait to kickoff this season and will be streaming our kick off of Feb. 12 on the Mainstage Twitch Account.

Partnership Updates

As we continue to expand in the gaming and esports space, we are strategically growing our partner and event sponsor list! This year we have added some new sponsors and we are excited to partner with them this season.

We Think Inc.

They are partnering with us to offer participating schools free accounts for their esports & gaming clubs. They have been aiding the development of Social and Emotional Learning, Career Education, and Classroom Development across the nation and we are so excited to partner with them on this journey!

Grand Slam Cards

Grand Slam Cards in Rock Hill, South Carolina

Grand Slam Cards has been serving card collectors and enthusiasts in Rock Hill since 1986. During that time this LCS (local card shop) has had three owners — the most recent being Josh and his brother Jason. Specializing in the latest releases in sports cards and trading cards, Grand Slam Card is everything you want in your local modern hobby shop — knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly. Whether you’re just getting started or a seasoned collector, Grand Slam has something for you.

Grand Slam Cards has been building a large following with their online collector’s community and offers gaming events around the year. We are excited to partner with them and help further their mission:

Grand Slam Card’s goal is to serve those who love the hobby and help those who are new to it, to learn to love it like we do.

Mainstage Community

As we continue to grow our team and community, we are excited to introduce Joel Hamilton, Mainstage Gaming Network’s COO!

Joel Hamilton, COO

In 2006, Joel attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill. He achieved a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration. During this time he met his wife, Marina, and is now a 2 x girl dad! Joel has practiced law in SC and owned several firms. He is a massive gamer and has recently enjoyed playing with his family as his daughters are growing gamers themselves.

He has been serving behind the scenes as our COO, keeping our company running smooth, writing legal partnerships, and managing our accounting so we can distribute things like our scholarship awards to students in our High School and College leagues.

We are so excited to have Joel on the team! His strong business acumen and leadership have given Mainstage a strong foundation to support our growth each year.
